In Tehran, the Minister of Interior discusses common border security and coordination in combating terrorism and organized crime

Baghdad, Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari and his accompanying delegation discussed, in the capital, Tehran, with his Iranian counterpart, Ahmed Vahidi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Police, and a number of officials, a number of issues of common interest, foremost of which is intensifying work to secure the common international borders, and the procedures of the two neighboring countries to reduce smuggling and infiltration operations. During the meeting, according to a statement by Al-Shammari's office, they discussed strengthening cooperation and coordination in the areas of drug control, training, exchange of experiences, and graduate study opportunities, and coordination in the field of combating terrorism, organized crime, cross-border crimes, and extradition of wanted persons.
