Iraq And Algeria Discuss Ways To Strengthen Relations And Prospects For Bilateral Cooperation

The head of the Consular Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Amin Al-Saadi, met with the Algerian Ambassador to Iraq, Jihad Al-Din Belkas, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Baghdad.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that during the meeting, they discussed ways to strengthen relations and prospects for cooperation between the two brotherly countries, and studied ways to develop them in a way that achieves the interests of both countries.

The two sides stressed the need to intensify mutual visits between the two countries based on friendly bilateral relations, as the head of the consular department stressed during the meeting that Iraq seeks to build balanced relations with all countries of the world in a way that achieves common interests, stressing: “Iraq’s regional role is focused on achieving peace and stability in Region".

The head of the consular department also discussed with the ambassador facilitating granting entry visas to Iraqis in general and students in particular, in addition to discussing the issue of Algerian convicts and detainees in Iraq and providing them with legal assistance, in addition to finding solutions to the problems they face.
