Iraq condemns Zionist attack on UNIFIL forces in Lebanon

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the Zionist attack that targeted the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), which resulted in the injury of a number of peacekeeping forces. The ministry stressed in a statement that "this aggression committed by the occupation forces constitutes a flagrant violation of the provisions of international humanitarian law and undermines international efforts aimed at achieving security and stability in the region." The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed "the importance of providing full protection to all peacekeeping forces, especially in light of these extremely difficult circumstances," calling for "an immediate ceasefire." The ministry called on the international community to "fulfill its responsibilities to ensure respect for international law and protect peacekeeping forces."
