Iraqi authorities announced Saturday a complete suspension of air traffic at all airports, following Israeli strikes on military sites in Tehran and the Iranian provinces of Khuzestan and Ilam. In a press statement, the Iraqi Ministry of Transport cited regional tensions as the reason for halting Iraqi air navigation until further notice, prioritizing the safety of civilian air traffic over Iraqi airspace. The General Company for Airports and Air Navigation has begun gradually clearing Iraqi airspace of inbound, outbound, and transiting aircraft to ensure the safety of travelers and flights passing through Iraq's skies.
