The Iraqi Airways Company announced the start of direct flights from Baghdad to Beijing after a hiatus that lasted for several years, as the first flight from Baghdad International Airport to Beijing Daxing International Airport began this afternoon, Saturday. The company's director, Manaf Abdel Moneim, said, "The resumption of operation of this vital line between Iraq and China, which is the second of its kind after the (Guangzhou) sector, is an important step that will open new horizons of joint cooperation between the two countries." He explained, "The number of scheduled flights for this sector was set at two flights per week, back from Iraq on Saturday and Tuesday, and back from Beijing on Sunday and Wednesday, in addition to allocating the latest planes to serve the line, which is a Dreamliner model distinguished for traveling long distances and providing high travel luxury."
