Gaza, A series of Israeli occupation airstrikes on residential buildings in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, and the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza, resulted today in several casualties and injuries among Palestinian civilians. Meantime, the Israeli occupation forces continued their relentless bombardment in the vicinity of hospitals in Gaza City.
Palestinian WAFA news agency said five civilians were martyred and others sustained injuries when an Israeli occupation airstrike hit a home in the Tahlia area of Khan Yunis. Additionally, a woman was martyred in an attack on the Kazemi family home near the Grand Mosque in the Khan Yunis city center.
In another incident, a number of casualties were reported, with several wounded individuals, as Israeli warplanes targeted a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, the agency added.
Israeli airstrikes also struck a four-story residential building in the Sheikh Nasser area, east of Khan Yunis, causing the complete destruction of the building. Luckily, the structure had been evacuated earlier, with no casualties reported.
Meantime, Israeli occupation forces bombed a home in the town of Absan Al-Jadida, east of Khan Yunis, as well as agricultural land in the nearby town of Bani Suhaila.
Hospitals and their surroundings continued to be prime targets for Israeli aggression. The Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia, north of Gaza, witnessed Israeli airstrikes, as did the Al-Shifa Medical Complex and its surroundings in western Gaza City. The Israeli military intensified its shelling of the hospitals, exacerbating the already dire conditions.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that Israeli tanks and military vehicles besieged its hospital, Al-Quds Hospital, in Gaza City from all directions, with a presence as close as 20 meters. The hospital building shook from the continuous shelling, causing panic among patients and displaced individuals seeking refuge.
Doctors Without Borders noted that Gaza's hospitals faced relentless airstrikes over the past 24 hours, with medical staff and patients still inside, despite the grave dangers posed by the ongoing hostilities. The organization called for an immediate cessation of Israeli attacks on medical facilities to ensure the safety of medical personnel and the continuity of critical healthcare services for the population.
