Jerusalem-Ma'an- The Jerusalem Water Authority confirmed that it is making great and intensive efforts to obtain additional quantities of water, and called on the competent authorities to provide these quantities to meet the needs of some areas that were previously identified and according to the comprehensive water plan, as these areas suffer from the lack of any water sources near them, and these areas were affected more than others after the quantities of water supplied to the authority by the Israeli company "Mekorot" were significantly reduced during the past summer. She added in a statement that she has been making every possible effort for years after diagnosing this problem by requesting additional water sources, and that what happened this year in terms of reducing quantities has unacceptably exacerbated the severity of the crisis. Therefore, the Authority is devoting all efforts and means and knocking on all doors, seeking to achieve a tangible accomplishment to reduce the suffering of citizens. A ccording to its statement, it spent "huge sums of money implementing alternative solutions seeking to address an environmental disaster, which played a role in stabilizing the situation in previous years and greatly reducing the suffering of citizens. When the solutions were implemented, it became necessary to mobilize all energies and efforts and make every effort to obtain our right and the right of our children to water." She said that the crisis also did not include tampering with water distribution valves in several areas, which confused the distribution crews and exacerbated the suffering of citizens in an unfair and repeated manner, especially since the crews are already burdened with work on more than "1000" valves in the concession areas.
