The head of the Federal Integrity Commission stressed the importance of joint Arab action in confronting the challenges besetting the nation, especially work in the field of preventing corruption and combating this dangerous scourge. During his meeting with Algerian Ambassador Jihad Al-Din Balkas at the Commission's headquarters, Judge Haider Hanoun discussed the draft memorandum of understanding to be concluded between the Iraqi Integrity Commission and the Supreme Authority for Transparency, Prevention and Combating of Corruption in the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, indicating that the memorandum will contribute to combating corruption, strengthening and consolidating the foundations of integrity, and creating a common vision to implement this, as well as support for mutual legal assistance stipulated in the Arab and International Anti-Corruption Conventions. Hanoun stressed the unification of visions and positions in presenting joint projects in international, Islamic and Arab events, and work ing to exchange and transfer experiences and expertise, especially in the field of legislation combating corruption, preventing it, recovering its proceeds and extraditing those involved in it, and involving civil society organizations, the media and citizens in combating corruption and spreading the values of integrity. For his part, the Algerian Ambassador, Jihad Al-Din Balkas highlighted the seriousness of the scourge of corruption on many sectors, especially the investment sector and the work of foreign companies, and providing a safe environment for investors, noting that cooperation between the two countries in the field of combating corruption and prosecuting its perpetrators leads to reassuring Algerian companies that intend to eorking inside Iraq.
