Manama, More than 530 entries had been submitted for the eighth edition of the Prime Minister's Award for Journalism, the chairman of the award's jury panel said. He expressed appreciation for the outstanding efforts made by journalists in delivering content that reflects the continuous development and growth of Bahraini journalism. Muhannad Al Nuaimi noted that the panel, as instructed by Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Minister of Information, was keen on applying the highest technical and professional standards that are in line with the objectives of the Prime Minister's Award for Journalism. The award aims to encourage creativity and innovation in Bahraini journalism and motivate journalists to present their best work and contribute to the development of the media sector. Al Nuaimi added that the jury panel adopted a new assessment mechanism for the award with a point system for each entry, and used 47 criteria across all categories. He commented: "We are proud of the level of entries we received this year. The jury evaluated 533 journalistic works that met the requirements, spread across 10 categories, including 40 investigations, 87 interviews, 60 specialised pages or supplements, 43 photos, 164 opinion columns, 93 visual content, 31 infographics, four student projects from universities, seven entries in the best website or social media account of a journalistic institution, and the Journalist of the Year." Al Nuaimi concluded by expressing his thanks and appreciation to all those who contributed to the success of this edition of the award, noting that the success achieved is the result of concerted efforts and teamwork, expressing his aspiration to see more outstanding entries in the coming editions. The jury panel included Muhannad Sulaiman Al Nuaimi as chairman, and members Dr. Zuhair Dhaif, Dr. Maha Al Rashed, Dr. Houria Al Dairi, Ali Mansoor Al Qamish, Duaa Awadh Hashim, and Ghada Al Thawadi.
