Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) opened the "Recycling to Create a Sustainable Culture" exhibition on the occasion of World Environment Day (WED). Held in Katara's Building 18 for two days, the exhibition includes pieces that merge engineering and environmental aspects to raise awareness of the importance of preserving the environment and recycling materials used in construction operations to be used to decorate homes and gardens. The "Recycling to Create a Sustainable Culture" exhibition is part of the activities organized by Katara in cooperation with the Qatar Society of Engineers on the occasion of WED aimed at spreading the culture of sustainability. These activities include artistic workshops for children held in Building 19 that include a recycling workshop by drawing on cardboard and a workshop on making plant pots from plastic containers. The exhibition is accompanied by an intellectual symposium on the role of culture and heritage in spreading environmental awareness held on Wednes day in Building 15 featuring the participation of Dr. Mohammed bin Saif Al Kuwari, Dr. Saif Al Hajri, and researcher Dhabya Abdullah Al Sulaiti. A book by Abu Bakr Al Hassan discussing Qatar's environment will also be launched at the "Recycling to Create a Sustainable Culture" exhibition. Source: Qatar News Agency
