Doha: Weather inshore until 6:00 pm on Thursday will be cloudy with a chance of moderate to heavy rain, and thundery at times, the Department of Meteorology said in its daily weather report, warning of expected thunderstorms with heavy rain, and poor horizontal visibility and expected strong wind.
According to Qatar News Agency, offshore conditions will also be cloudy with a chance of scattered rain, potentially becoming thundery. The report warns of expected thundery rain accompanied by poor horizontal visibility, strong winds, and high seas.
Wind patterns inshore are expected to be primarily southeasterly to easterly, ranging from 15 to 25 KT, and could gust up to 50 KT during thundery rain. Offshore, winds will vary from southeasterly to northeasterly, reaching 20 to 30 KT, and gusting up to 50 KT with thundery rain.
The sea state inshore is predicted to be between 3 to 5 feet, while offshore conditions are expected to range from 6 to 10 feet, possibly rising to 16 feet during thundery rain. Visibility inshore is forecasted to be between 3 to 7 km, dropping to 1 km or less during thundery rain. Offshore visibility is also expected to follow the same pattern.
