Doha: Weather inshore until 6:00 pm on Monday will be partly cloudy to cloudy with a chance of scattered rain, maybe thundery at times, the Department of Meteorology said in its daily weather report, warning of expected thundery rain associated with strong winds.
According to Qatar News Agency, offshore conditions will also be partly cloudy to cloudy with a chance of scattered rain, potentially thundery. The report highlights the possibility of strong winds and high seas accompanying the thundery rain.
The wind inshore will initially be southeasterly to southwesterly, shifting to northwesterly at 5-15 KT, with gusts reaching 25 KT during thundery rain. Offshore winds will start southeasterly to southwesterly at 03 - 13 KT, shifting to northwesterly 05-15 KT by noon, with gusts up to 25 KT during thundery rain.
Sea conditions inshore are expected to be 1-3 FT, increasing to 5 FT with thundery rain, while offshore conditions will be 2-4 FT, rising to 8 FT during thundery events.
Visibility inshore is predicted to be 4-9 KM, reducing to 3 KM or less with thundery rain. Offshore visibility will also range from 4-9 KM, decreasing to 3 KM or less with thundery rain.
