Minister of Water Resources, Aoun Diab, affirmed: "Proper management and clear planning of the water file will enable us to manage this file."

Diab said at the opening of the third Baghdad Water Conference: "The government has given priority to this file and we are working to implement the recommendations of the Basra International Climate Conference."

He added: "We organized the conference to be a good opportunity to exchange ideas and proposals and find solutions at the regional and international levels to manage water resources fairly and soundly, provide safe water for communities and sustain the water systems of the marshes of southern Iraq."
