Doha: Under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, the 12th Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition will be held from February 4 to 8 at Katara Cultural Village. A Ministry of Municipality press conference revealed that participants from over 29 countries would be engaged in specialized conferences, seminars, and panels on the latest agricultural innovations and environmental sustainability.
According to Qatar News Agency, the largest in the event’s history, this year’s edition hosts the UAE’s Ministry of Climate Change and Environment as the guest of honor. A total of 114 local farms along with honey and date producers will showcase their products across specialized markets on a venue of more than 40,000 square meters, boosting interaction between producers and consumers.
Organizing and Supervisory Committee Chairman Yousef Khalid Al Khulaifi stated that the event, which coincides with the launch of the Ministry of Municipality’s 2024 – 2030 National Food Security Strategy, reflects an ambitious vision to enhance innovation, exchange expertise, and open new horizons for investment and partnerships in the agricultural sector.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Municipality’s Public Parks Department Director Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sada emphasized the event’s role in realizing an integrated and sustainable agricultural sector. He noted the exhibition’s aims of showcasing the latest sustainable agriculture technologies, including smart irrigation systems, organic and cosmetic agriculture, and food security.
The Ministry of Municipality’s Public Relations Director Dr. Faiqa Abdullah Ashkanani discussed the media campaign launched to introduce the exhibition and its importance, highlighting the vital role of the agricultural sector in achieving national and regional food security.
