Mohamad al-Kajak…Craftsman obtains the first heritage masterpiece title deed in Syria

General Union of Craftsmen granted the craftsman, Mohamad al-Kajak the first title deed for a creative heritage masterpiece.

The masterpieces is a ball of shell inlaid with silver and gold, on which verses of poetry about Damascus were written on it.

This deed is considered as the first one for a heritage masterpiece in Syria.

Secretary of the Board of Trainers of the Dummar Central Incubator for traditional arts CISTA, Adnan Tanbekji said that the purpose of the title deed is to protect the craftsman’s legal rights by documenting the ownership in the records of the General Union for Craftsmen and the CISTA, and protecting the financial rights of the maker and owner of the masterpiece.

Tanbekji added that this masterpiece will get and additional values when it is displayed in the international forums and exhibitions and it is one of the most significant documents that contribute in the acceptance of international marketing of this masterpiece,

document the Syrian origin of the heritage masterpiece and glorifies the Syrian craftsman as the ownership will transfer from one person to another and the name of the first maker, who is the Syrian craftsman will remain.

Tanbekji pointed out the importance of implementing this step, mainly after the unjust war years, during which a lot of archaeological pieces and art masterpiece were stolen.

The title deed granted the masterpiece maker a certificate signed by General Union of Craftsmen as a first step, and the maker can certificate it from the Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ministry if he intends to travel.
