The three-year-old colt AJS HAJAJ (QTR) (AF Albahar x Nouba Al Maury) carried the colours of his owner Mohammed bin Hamad Khalifa Al Attiyah to success, taking the Sohar Beach Handicap Stakes, a 1,400-metre race for three-year-old and older Purebred Arabians at Wolverhampton, UK, on Saturday, September 18th
Having finished a close fourth at Lingfield Park three weeks ago, AJS HAJAJ appreciated the drop back to 1,400m at Wolverhampton and led home a 1-2 for his Newmarket-based trainer Phil Collington.
Ridden by Josephine Gordon, AJS HAJAJ took the twelve-runner contest by one and a quarter lengths from stable-mate BALQEES (Madjani) while the ten-year-old PARAMER ANGEL (Parador) showed a return to form and finished a further three lengths back in third.
Bred by Al Jeryan Stud, AJS HAJAJ is by Haras de Thouars’ stallion AF ALBAHAR (Amer). His dam NOUBA AL MAURY (Kesberoy) won three of her four starts and has now produced three winners, including the Group 2 (PA) Prix Nefta winner RAWAH (Amer)
