The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) have launched the annual seasonal influenza vaccination campaign, which will enable community members to receive their free seasonal influenza vaccines at all primary health centers, HMC outpatient clinics and at more than 45 private and semi-private clinics and hospitals across Qatar.

Dr. Abdullatif Al Khal, Chair of the National Health Strategic Group on COVID-19 and Head of the Infectious Diseases Division at HMC, clarified the health sector took a proactive approach and started the vaccination campaign in early September. He noted that people are usually exposed to a variety of flu strains every year, something which helps to build up immunity against the virus.
