National committee for Combating Trafficking in Persons holds meeting

The National Committee for Combatting Trafficking in Persons held its first meeting after its restructuring, chaired by Nouf Abdulrahman Jamsheer, the LMRA Chief Executive Officer.

Jamsheer congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on Bahrain's achievement of the "Tier 1" status in the US State Department's report on the classification of countries in the field of combating trafficking in persons for the sixth consecutive year.

She noted that this achievement reflects the Kingdom's significant and sustainable efforts to maintain a stable and fair work environment.

Jamsheer added that Bahrain's pioneering regional role in the field of combating trafficking in persons reflects its commitment to preserving the rights of all work parties.

The meeting reviewed current policies aimed at combating trafficking in persons in the Kingdom and the most prominent points mentioned in the report of the US Department of State, to build on and strengthen, combatting trafficking in persons on all levels.
