Nebenzia: Anglo-Saxon actions in Middle East directly threaten peace, security

New York, Russia's Permanent Representative to the Security Council, Vasily Nebenzia, called on the international community to unconditionally condemn the reckless actions taken by Washington and its allies in the Middle East that violate Syrian and Iraqi sovereignty. 'Actions of Anglo-Saxons pose a direct threat to international peace and security and undermine the world order resting on supremacy of universal international law and the central role of the United Nations,' the Russian diplomat was quoted by Russia Today as saying at the session of the Security Council held Monday to discuss the US aggression on Iraq and Syria. The United States purposefully seeks after drawing the largest countries of the Middle East into a conflict, Nebenzia added. He noted that by attacking targets in Iraq and Syria almost without pause, the United States is attempting to purposefully draw the largest countries of the Middle East into a region-wide conflict.
