During the meeting, according to the statement of the Presidency of the region, in a meeting held in Baku, the two sides stressed the strengthening of relations between Iraq and Azerbaijan in all fields, especially in the fields of economy, trade, tourism and energy, in addition to discussing investment opportunities for investors and Azerbaijani companies in Iraq and the Kurdistan region.
In the meeting, they also stressed the need to open a consulate for Azerbaijan in the Kurdistan region, which was previously decided upon, in addition to talking about the procedures for opening the consulate in the near future, and working to consolidate relations and joint cooperation between the two sides.
