Doha: Northwestern University in Qatar, a partner institution of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development, will host a symposium on Arabic narrative styles in artificial intelligence, cinema, and media next Saturday. The event is organized in collaboration with the global media and educational platform Afkarah. This symposium will bring together a distinguished group of experts from both within Qatar and abroad to explore the evolving relationship between the Arabic language and modern technologies. Key discussions will focus on how Arabic adapts to the demands of global audiences while maintaining its cultural identity. The event will also delve into the changing landscape of Arabic publishing, examining the dynamic between classical Arabic and regional dialects in literature and media. Additionally, it will highlight emerging trends in both digital and traditional publishing, the role of translations in bridging linguistic divides, and innovative approaches to navigating the rich diversity of the Arabic linguistic landscape. Director of the Media Council Museum at Northwestern University, Alfredo Cramerotti emphasized that the symposium reflects the Museum's commitment to fostering dialogue and exploration across disciplines. He noted that this multidisciplinary event provides a platform for deeper understanding of the Arabic language's role in media production, technological innovation, and publishing. He also highlighted the significance of the collaboration with the Afkarah platform as an opportunity to engage with Arab communities and enrich the cultural narrative in a manner that resonates with younger generations. Cramerotti further pointed out that the symposium will feature three special podcast episodes, produced in partnership with the Afkarah podcast channel. These episodes will spotlight the importance of exploring Arabic language, culture, and identity in contemporary discourse. It is worth mentioning that the Afkarah Podcast network broadcasts a variety of dialogues o n the history and cultures of the Arab world, offering daily insights and discussions to a wide audience.
