Pakistani Premier Hopes for Lasting Deal Between US, Iran to Ensure Regional Stability

Islamabad: Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif expressed hope that the current momentum leads to a lasting US-Iran agreement that secures durable peace and stability for the region and beyond.

According to Qatar News Agency, Sharif posted on X that "Pakistan remains firmly committed to supporting all efforts that promote restraint and a peaceful resolution of conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy."

He added that US President, Donald Trump's response to the request made by Pakistan and other countries, will go a long way towards advancing regional peace, stability, and reconciliation during this sensitive period.

The Pakistani Prime Minister also noted the US' decision to pause Project Freedom in the Strait of Hormuz, as efforts are underway to reach a deal.
