Pilot Killed in Glider Crash Southwest of Hanover, Germany

Hanover: A 72-year-old pilot was killed when his glider crashed southwest of Hanover, Germany. A police spokesperson reported that the accident occurred Saturday afternoon in the Hameln-Pyrmont district of Lower Saxony. The cause of the crash is still unknown.

According to Qatar News Agency, the glider crashed in a remote area on a cliff after taking off from a nearby airfield, the spokesperson added. Rescue operations continued into the evening, involving mountain rescue teams and firefighting units at the scene.
