Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani discussed with the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq Anil Bora Annan joint security coordination in the border areas.
A statement from the Prime Minister’s Media Office stated: ‘Al-Sudani received the new Turkish ambassador to Iraq, and during the meeting they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and the importance of consolidating constructive cooperation, in order to activate what was agreed upon during the Turkish President’s visit to Baghdad last April, which resulted the signing of a framework cooperation agreement and more than twenty memorandums of understanding in various fields and sectors, in addition to the quadripartite memorandum on the strategic development road project.’
The statement added: “The two sides discussed joint security coordination procedures in the border areas, in a way that confirms Iraq’s sovereignty over its lands and prevents any violations.
