The Prime Minister, Muhammad Al-Sudani, confirmed that the government is working to provide everything necessary for the elections, and the requirements for completing the work of the Independent High Electoral Commission.
Al-Sudani indicated, during his visit to the headquarters of the Independent High Electoral Commission and his meeting with the Board of Commissioners, that "the government supports this important and basic constitutional institution in the democratic system."
He stressed that "integrity and transparency in the electoral process is a cornerstone for preserving the professionalism of the commission and the impartiality of its performance," stressing "the need to open up to all political, societal and civil forces, dispel fears and receive observations that support the work of the commission."
Al-Sudani directed, "to work to consolidate the citizen's confidence in the electoral process and its outputs," indicating that "the government will spare no effort in this path".
He pointed out that government agencies are mandated to mobilize all their energies to prevent any manipulation or dealings outside the framework of the law that affects the results or impedes the work of the commission”, that “the elections are a means of preserving civil peace and stability, just as they are a means of the peaceful, democratic and constitutional transfer of power and responsibility.”
