President of the International Court of Justice: The Palestinian people, recognized under the Oslo Treaty, have the right to self-determination

The President of the International Court of Justice confirmed that the Palestinian people recognized under the Oslo Accords have the right to self-determination. He said that Israel's practices after its occupation of Palestinian lands in 1967 violated the right to self-determination. He added, 'We believe that the continued occupation of Palestinian lands for a long period of time does not change their legal status.' He stressed that the occupation authorities cannot displace the population of the occupied territories or settle some of their citizens there. He explained that Israel is violating its duty to administer the occupied territories. Source: National Iraqi News Agency
