Doha: Qatari newspapers have expressed strong condemnation of the Israeli occupation government’s decision to halt the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. They underscored Qatar’s firm stance against the use of food as a weapon of war and the starvation of civilians, asserting that this action is a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement, international humanitarian law, the Fourth Geneva Convention, and all religious laws.
According to Qatar News Agency, local editorials highlighted the significance of charitable work in Qatari society, which is deeply rooted in social culture based on religious teachings that promote goodness and righteousness. Al-Sharq newspaper criticized the Israeli government’s ongoing political maneuvers and delays in implementing the ceasefire agreement, warning that the international community must ensure the full and faithful implementation of the agreement and facilitate the unobstructed entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
Al-Raya newspaper reported that the Israeli government’s actions amount to a new violation against the Palestinian people, particularly in the Gaza Strip, by halting humanitarian aid and closing crossings indefinitely. This move aims to exert pressure and impose collective punishment, mistakenly believing it will force the Palestinian resistance to surrender. The paper highlighted the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, which is exacerbated by ongoing aggression, destruction, and displacement.
Both newspapers concluded that Israel’s attempts to impose conditions or extract concessions from the Palestinians are futile, as the people remain steadfast in their attachment to their land despite the adversities they face.
