Qatar Engages in Discussions on Haiti’s Crisis at OIF Meeting

Paris: The State of Qatar took part in the fifth meeting of the Restricted Ad Hoc Consultative Committee on Haiti, under the auspices of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), held in Paris.

According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar was represented by HE Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani, who serves as the Ambassador to the French Republic and the nation’s representative to the OIF. The agenda of the meeting focused on the ongoing security and humanitarian crisis in Haiti and the developments in the nation’s transitional process. This comes at a critical time as Haiti prepares for elections set for early 2026.

The meeting also explored the types of support the OIF can extend to Haiti to help stabilize the region and aid the transitional process effectively.
