Qatar Expands Diplomatic and Humanitarian Efforts in Africa and the Middle East

Doha: Qatari newspapers on Thursday focused on the significant diplomatic engagements of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, highlighting his meeting with HE President of the Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame. Additionally, they emphasized Qatar’s humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, where the State of Qatar has pledged to supply 15 million liters of fuel.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Arab newspaper detailed the discussions between HH the Amir and the Rwandan President at the Amiri Diwan, which centered on enhancing bilateral relations and exchanging views on critical regional and international issues. The editorial also noted the Amir’s upcoming meeting with the President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, to further discuss and strengthen bilateral ties and address regional and international concerns.

The newspaper underscored the growing relations between Qatar and emerging countries, highlighting Qatar’s commitment to fostering dialogue and cooperation as essential elements of sustainable development and community prosperity. Al-Arab cited numerous diplomatic meetings and visits as evidence of Qatar’s efforts to strengthen ties with African and South American nations.

Al-Sharq newspaper reported on Qatar’s humanitarian initiatives in Gaza, following the directives of HH the Amir. Qatar has initiated the supply of 15 million liters of fuel to the Gaza Strip, increasing the total fuel support to 30 million liters. The report highlighted Qatar’s establishment of an air bridge to deliver humanitarian aid, including food and medicine, and its role in facilitating medical treatment for wounded individuals in Doha.

Al-Sharq emphasized the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, stressing the urgent need for opening humanitarian corridors and expediting relief and reconstruction efforts. The newspaper concluded by acknowledging Qatar’s collaboration with regional and international partners, and UN agencies, to mitigate the conflict and foster lasting peace and reconstruction in the region.
