Doha: Al Sadd emerged victorious over Al Khor with a score of 25-23 on Sunday in the eighth round of the Qatar Men's Handball League. This win elevated Al Sadd's points tally to 14, placing them in sixth position, while Al Khor's points remain at 12, positioning them in eighth place.
According to Qatar News Agency, in another match, Al Shamal and Al Wakrah ended in a 30-30 draw. As a result, Al Shamal's points rose to 13, securing seventh place, while Al Wakrah now has 9 points, placing them in tenth position.
Additionally, matches between Al Duhail and Al Rayyan, Al Arabi and Al Ahli, and Al Gharafa and Qatar SC were postponed due to Al Rayyan and Al Arabi's participation in the 41st Gulf Club Champions Cup currently taking place in Muscat, Oman.
Last season, Al Rayyan won the Qatar Men's Handball League for the 2023/2024 season, with Al Arabi finishing in second place and Al Duhail securing third place. Notably, Al Rayyan holds the record for the most league titles, having won the championship 15 times, followed by Al Sadd with 9 titles, Al Duhail with 5, Al Ahli and El Jaish with 4 each, and Al Arabi and Qatar SC with 2 each, while Al Gharafa and Al Wakrah each have 1 title.
