Qatar has climbed two positions up in the Global Innovation Index 2021, ranking third in the Arab world and 68th internationally, after it ranked the 70th last year. The Global Innovation Index was released this year by Cornell University, the European Institute for Business Administration (INSEAD) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO); one of the United Nations specialized agencies.
In its annual report, the organization stated that this year's index showed that governments and companies in many parts of the world have increased their investment in innovation after the backdrop of the human and economic losses caused by COVID-19 pandemic.
It is worth mentioning that the Manual is highly credible for that it is a product of the cooperation of prestigious institutions and it relies on solid data sources. Further than that, the framework for designing the Manual is highly credible, and is subject to independent scrutiny by the Joint Research Centre of the European Union.
