DOHA - The Qatar National Junior Handball team will hold a training camp in Egypt from August 6 to 14, in preparation for participating in the 9th Asian Junior Championship to be held in Bahrain from August 20 to 31, qualifying for the 2023 World Championship in Croatia.
During the camp, the team will play a number of friendly matches, through which the coaching staff seeks to reach the highest levels of readiness before entering the continental merit competitions.
The draw for the ninth Asian Junior Championship placed the Qatari national team in Group B along with Japan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq and Kuwait. Group A includes Bahrain, Iran, India, South Korea and Uzbekistan.
The Qatari national team will start its matches in the tournament facing the UAE on August 20, then Saudi Arabia on August 21, before facing Iraq on August 23 and then Japan on August 24, while concluding its matches by meeting Kuwait on August 26.
Qatari national junior handball team was crowned the Asian Championship title twice in 2010 and 2012.
