Qatar Praises Agreement on Yemen Detainee Release

Doha: The State of Qatar has expressed its welcome for the agreement reached by Yemeni parties to release 1,600 detainees linked to the ongoing conflict in Yemen. The agreement was finalized following negotiations in Amman, the capital of Jordan.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar issued a statement on Thursday expressing full appreciation for the efforts made by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Nations, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and other concerned parties that facilitated the agreement.

The ministry emphasized Qatar's unwavering support for all regional and international initiatives aimed at resolving the Yemeni crisis through dialogue and peaceful means. The statement highlighted that such efforts are crucial for ensuring the security and stability of Yemen and its people, while also promoting sustainable peace throughout the region.
