Qatar Resumes In-Person Work and Education Amid Regional Tensions

Doha: Life is returning to normal across various ministries, government bodies, authorities, and public institutions in Qatar, following a decision by the Council of Ministers General Secretariat to resume work from workplaces. This move marks the end of a more than three-week period of remote work implemented due to exceptional circumstances in the region.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has also announced the gradual resumption of in-person classes across educational institutions. Starting today, educational institutions will see a phased return to full attendance, with all students in schools and kindergartens expected to resume in-person learning by next Sunday. The Ministry of Interior has emphasized the importance of adhering to preventive guidelines to ensure the safety of students and staff, urging compliance with directives from relevant authorities and emergency procedures.

In a related development, the Peninsula reported that the escalating conflict in the Middle East is increasingly affecting regional stability, with Syria becoming a new focal point. Qatar has condemned recent attacks as violations of Syrian sovereignty and international law, warning that these actions threaten regional security. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs criticized the international community's response to the tensions and urged restraint.

The situation in Syria has drawn concern from United Nations officials, who have called for Israel to cease its incursions and respect the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement. There is a growing apprehension that Syria could face further destabilization at a critical juncture in its recovery. The strikes have been widely condemned in the Arab and Muslim world, with fears mounting that Syria could become embroiled in a broader regional conflict.

As regional tensions continue to rise, the need for coordinated diplomatic intervention becomes more pressing to prevent further escalation and maintain stability in the region.
