Doha: Qatar Scouts and Guides Association, on Sunday, concluded its participation in the European scout camp (JAMSCOUT 2024), held in the province of Soria, Spain, during the period July 13-21. Young Qatari scouters participated in all events of the camp whose ages ranged from 14 to 17. The events featured educational and patrimonial activities, while over 8,000 people participated in the closing ceremony, including those who were invited, alongside the organizers. The association participated in this event with 20 scout leaders. Ghanim Abdulrahman Al Kuwari, head of the Qatari scout delegation, said the Qatari participation in JAMSCOUT 2024 came as part of the association's plan and the foremost priorities it strives to achieve consistently with the strategy of scout operation and keenness to provide an opportunity for scouters, in terms of their engagement in global events and maintain the name of Qatar on the maps of international scout camps, in addition to honing the association's scouters skills and e ngaging in new experiences in the scouting field. Al Kuwari highlighted that the participation was essential to share expertise with international associations in various scout territories and shine a spotlight on the State of Qatar's inveterate culture and historical civilization, along with the privileged status the State of Qatar maintains on the global map and accentuate Qatar's modern renaissance under its wise leadership. For their part, the two scouters Hamad Youssef Al Amri and Hizam Al Musleh highlighted their participation in the scouting camp, which achieved several objectives, notably raising Qatar's flag high in this European event, in addition to engaging in various contests that showcased the skills and capabilities of Qatari scouters, who had successfully addressed the challenges and interacted with scouts from different countries around the world. They pointed out that the association won numerous scouting badges in various scouting fields, considering this participation a milestone in the history of every scout and leader, highlighting that the event was a prime opportunity to internalize diverse cultures and experiences in a single forum and land.
