Qatar Sends Seventh Identical Letter to UN Over Iranian Attack on Its Territories

United nations: The State of Qatar has sent a seventh identical letter to HE Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres, and HE Permanent Representative of the United States of America to the United Nations and President of the Security Council for the month of March, Michael Waltz, regarding the latest developments of the Iranian attack on its territories.

According to Qatar News Agency, this attack constitutes a blatant violation of Qatar's national sovereignty, posing a direct threat to its security and territorial integrity, and an escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region. The letter was sent by HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani.

The letter highlighted the continued attacks targeting Qatar's territories, indicating that the Ministry of Defense of the State of Qatar announced that Qatar was subjected to an attack involving 17 ballistic missiles and 6 drones from the Islamic Republic of Iran until the afternoon of Monday, March 9, 2026. The armed forces successfully intercepted all 17 ballistic missiles and 6 drones without any casualties.

Furthermore, the letter stated that all damages and losses resulting from the attacks will be assessed by the relevant authorities and that the State of Qatar will keep them informed of any developments. The letter reiterated Qatar's strong condemnation of the attack and its right to respond in accordance with Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations. This response would be commensurate with the nature of the aggression, aimed at defending its sovereignty and safeguarding its security and national interests.

The State of Qatar also requested the circulation of this letter as an official document of the Security Council.
