Kuwait: Qatar’s volleyball and basketball teams notched up fine wins in the GCC Games in Kuwait on Saturday.
The men’s volleyball team scored their second successive win, moving past Saudi Arabia in straight sets.
Qatar’s spikers easily quelled their opponents’ challenge 25-18, 25-16, 25-20. The maroons next play UAE on Monday.
In basketball, the men’s team finally ended up on the winning side following three defeats.
Qatar’s hoopsters won 72-61 against the UAE after leading 42-20 at the break. The result did not help Qatar’s cause though as they failed to make the last four. Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia will battle it out in the semifinals.
On the other hand, the tennis and table tennis will get underway on Sunday.
