New York: HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani held a meeting with HE Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) Philippe Lazzarini at the UN headquarters. The meeting underscored Qatar’s ongoing dedication to supporting Palestinian refugees through sustained political and financial backing.

According to Qatar News Agency, Her Excellency emphasized the essential role that UNRWA plays in providing humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, describing it as the backbone of efforts to support them. She reiterated Qatar’s unwavering commitment to maintaining its support for the agency, both politically and financially.

HE Commissioner-General Lazzarini expressed his gratitude for Qatar’s contributions, acknowledging the impact of its support in ensuring the continuation of UNRWA’s efforts to relieve the challenges faced by Palestinian refugees.
