Qatar’s Prime Minister Engages in High-Profile Diplomatic Calls Amid Global Tensions

Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani engaged in a series of diplomatic conversations with key international leaders, reflecting Qatar's active role in addressing ongoing global issues.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Prime Minister received a telephone call from HE EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas. Furthermore, he was contacted by HH Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud; HE Foreign Minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah; HH Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan; and HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, Dr. Badr Abdelatty. Additionally, HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkiye, Hakan Fidan, also reached out to the Qatari leader.

In domestic developments, the Council of Ministers Secretariat General announced that all ministries and government entities in Qatar would return to normal office operations from March 24, 2026. This decision follows a previous statement issued on March 8, 2026, concerning remote work policies.

The Ministry of Interior has issued a warning to the public against responding to suspicious communications that falsely claim to be from government agencies and attempt to extract banking information or funds.

Qatar's civil aviation authority reassured the public that the country's air transport sector remains under "full operational control" despite regional tensions and threats to airspace safety.

Qatar has reaffirmed its commitment to international humanitarian efforts, emphasizing the need for global solidarity in response to the increasing number of refugees and displaced persons.

On the international front, Qatari diplomats actively participated in high-level meetings in Uzbekistan and India. HE Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Hassan bin Hamza Hashim, and HE Ambassador to India, Mohammed bin Hassan Jaber Al Jaber, joined discussions with local and GCC counterparts to reinforce diplomatic ties.

Educational institutions in Qatar, including schools, kindergartens, and Qatar University, are set to resume in-person classes, with full attendance expected by next Sunday. The Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced this transition, along with Qatar Central Bank and Hamad Medical Corporation, which are also resuming normal operations.

The Supreme Judiciary Council and the Ministries of Labor and Commerce and Industry have concluded remote work mandates, marking a return to conventional work environments for public and private sectors across the nation.
