Doha: Qatar National Library (QNL) has organized an interactive pavilion at Sharjah Children Reading Festival in Emirate of Sharjah, the United Arab Emirates, under the title of Hayy ibn Yaqdhan, the enlightenment journey. The pavilion is open to young people and kids and showcases several masterpieces of Arabic literature related to the autobiographies of Hayy ibn Yaqdhan and others. The pavilion takes visitors on a journey to self-discovery through five interactive stops, each one of them epitomizes prominent aspects and ideas in the life of Hayy ibn Yaqdhan, by focusing on critical analysis and thinking and self-discovery regarding young people. The event drew huge turnout from the public, particularly the visit of the ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah HH Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi and Chairperson of Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi. On this occasion, deputy director of QNL Tan Huism affirmed that the QNL strives to realize its mission with the aim of exploring an environment conducive for learning and exploration in collaboration with the House of Wisdom in Sharjah, adding that since its inauguration, QNL has been eager to pay tribute to the Arabic literature and hone private skills. For her part, Executive Director of House of Wisdom Marwa Al Aqroubi highlighted the profound impact of literature and philosophy on the growth of children and on honing their skills.
