QREC Chairman Praises Success of HH the Amir Sword Festival

Doha: Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) Chairman Issa bin Mohammed Al Mohannadi praised the significant success achieved by the HH the Amir Sword Equestrian Festival 2025 that was organized by the club and concluded today at Al Uqda Equestrian Complex featuring a large participation of owners from inside and outside Qatar.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al Mohannadi expressed his happiness with the success of the final day's race. The race was held in an exciting competitive atmosphere among horse owners, with the presence of a large audience. He noted that the last day of the festival was quite special, in terms of the high attendance, the strength of the races, and the participation of distinguished horses, which reflects the success of the festival in general.

Al Mohannadi confirmed that the club succeeded in overcoming the challenge of transferring the closing ceremony of the festival to the Al Uqda racetrack, noting that the racetrack was fully prepared, which contributed to the success of the impressive performance. He thanked the sponsoring companies that contributed to the success of the festival stressing that the festival's great success represents an important addition to Qatari equestrianism.

He added that the current year's version of the festival has gained great importance in terms of horse racing in the region, as it witnesses distinguished participation from abroad by stables and stables that have a history of racing on the largest international tracks. The Chairman considered the victory of the horse Al Ghadeer in the eighth round allocated for purebred Arabian horses (Grade 1, Class 1) over a distance of 2400 meters, a great achievement after winning the title of HH the Amir's Golden Sword, and before that at the Goodwood Festival in Britain, and the Arc de Triomphe in France.
