Record Performance for Transportation and Aviation Sectors during the World Cup

The Ministry of Transport's statistics revealed that record numbers were achieved in terms of air traffic performance and internal transportation services since the start of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, until the end of the group matches of the tournament. This is greatly aligned with serving the visitors of countries who are fans of various teams, starting from the moment they arrived at Hamad and Doha International Airports, until they reached the gates of the eight iconic championship stadiums.

The statistics reveal that about 12.2 thousand air movements were recorded between take-off and landing at Hamad and Doha International Airports, with an average of 935 air movements per day.

In addition, Doha Metro, with its 37 stations, transported more than 9.3 million passengers since the start of the tournament until Friday, December 2, at a rate of more than 700 thousand passengers per day, after it became the preferred means of transportation between the main destinations in Qatar and to the tournament stadiums as well.
