Eight militants were killed in a security operation launched by the Pakistani army today in the northwest of the country.

The Pakistani army command said its forces killed the eight militants in an operation it carried out after receiving intel of the militants' presence.

The statement said that the eight killed were involved in targeting security men and civilians in the area, pointing out that one of the soldiers was killed in clashes that broke out with these elements. (QNA)
