The Security Media Cell announced the dismantling of a network that was planning to carry out terrorist operations in Kirkuk. The cell stated in a statement: 'The Kirkuk Intelligence and Security Directorate, affiliated with the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security of the Ministry of Defense, and according to accurate intelligence information, began carrying out a security duty that resulted in the arrest of the terrorist (A.M.A.) in the city of Kirkuk, and through the terrorist's confessions, it was found that he was an element in a terrorist cell that was planning terrorist operations." The Cell added, "Through scrutiny and field follow-up, the remaining members of the cell were identified through high coordination between the directorate and Sulaymaniyah Counter-Terrorism Service, with the support of the Kirkuk Operations Command.
