Speakers of the Turkish and Iranian Parliaments discuss developments in Palestine

Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Numan Qurto Lamoush, discussed with his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Baqir Qalibaf, developments related to the military confrontation between Israel and the Palestinian factions and the continued attacks on Gaza.

In a phone call with his Iranian counterpart, Qorto Lamoush stressed the necessity of stopping the attacks on Gaza and declaring an immediate ceasefire to pave the way for a just peace, and working to provide the basic needs of the region.

The Speaker of the Turkish Parliament warned of the danger of the escalation and spread of tension, and repeated his call for restraint, calling on the Islamic world to take effective action to put an end to the killing and destruction that Gaza is being exposed to.

He said: "We see great benefit in joint action regarding humanitarian aid and the protection of innocent civilians in Gaza."

For his part, Qalibaf pointed out that there are problems related to water, food, electricity and hospitals in Gaza and requested Turkey’s support in working to deliver humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.
