Syria’s permanent representative to UN is elected as rapporteur of Special Committee on Decolonization

New York, The Special Committee on the Status of Implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to and colonized Countries and peoples elected Syria's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Qusay Al-Dahhak as its uncontested rapporteur. The step came Thursday during an official meeting held by the committee, also known 'Decolonization Committee.' In a speech before the committee after the election, Al-Dahhak thanked and appreciated the confidence granted by members of the Decolonization Committee, affirming Syria's support for the efforts of the Committee and its continued work to ensure the success of its mandate in supporting the colonized peoples and enabling them to gain their rights to independence and self-determination.
