The Arab League is participating with a delegation to monitor the Jordanian parliamentary elections scheduled to be held on September 10, in response to the invitation received by the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, from the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Jordanian Independent Election Commission, Musa Maaytah. The League said in a statement today, Monday, that the participation comes in light of the interest it attaches to keeping pace with the electoral entitlements held in member states, and based on its keenness to support and strengthen the process of democracy and consolidate good governance.
