The Chief of Staff of the Army, First Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, and the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, First Lieutenant General Qais Al-Muhammadawi, chaired a security meeting to evaluate and update security plans. A statement by the Joint Operations Command stated: 'Yarallah and Al-Muhammadawi held a security meeting at the headquarters of the Joint Operations Command in the presence of the Assistant Chief of Staff of the Army for Operations, the Commander of the Ground Forces, a number of security commanders, the security and intelligence services, the Popular Mobilization Forces, and officers of the Command Staff.' It added, "This meeting focused on the most important security issues and challenges, as well as discussing security plans, building capabilities, ensuring combat readiness requirements to confront defeated terrorist elements, protecting vital sites related to the highest economic interests in the country, and the need for commanders and officers to be present at th e head of their units and to secure and protect the borders separating the sectors, tightening the noose on terrorist elements, and maintaining and sustaining the state of security superiority over the national territory.' The statement continued: "The meeting also discussed evaluating and updating security plans for areas of common interest between the units and the regional guard forces through high coordination, activating joint committees, maintaining and protecting areas of common interest, and sustaining offensive operations.
