The two Saudi astronauts, Rayana Bernawi and Ali Al-Qarni, arrived on Earth, after the "Dragon" spacecraft carrying them separated from the International Space Station.
"Dragon" penetrated the terrestrial airspace, at dawn today, Wednesday, and landed on the eastern coast of the US state of Florida.
A video clip showed the moment the shuttle touched the surface of the water and then reached the ground, amid great joy from the control team, as the crew arrived safely, while Barnawi and Al-Qarni were safely ejected.
For its part, "NASA" congratulated the pioneers on the success of the mission, and said in a tweet on "Twitter": "Congratulations on the wonderful mission."
Bernawi and Al-Qarni concluded their mission at the International Space Station yesterday, Tuesday, and the journey back to Earth began, after 10 days of space exploration and scientific experiments.
And the Saudi Space Authority announced that the return journey of Al-Qarni and Bernawi to Earth, by separation from the International Space Station, takes from 6 to 30 hours.
