Baghdad, The Islamic Dawa Party denounced the statements of a Russian official and called on her to apologize.. The party stated in a statement: "We were shocked by what was stated in the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman (Maria Zakharova) about the worst bloody dictator the world has known in the twentieth century, and that with her provocative words she has stirred up the sorrows and pains of hundreds of thousands of families of victims of the former regime from all components." It added, "This reveals her complete ignorance of the history of Iraq and the course of events in it, and that the international conflict should not be at the expense of obscuring the facts and whitewashing the black page of tyrants and terrorists." IT stressed: "The Iraqis received these irresponsible statements with great regret and disapproval from an official in a country that has good relations with Iraq." The party called on the Iraqi Foreign Ministry to officially protest these reprehensible statements that do not serve the positive relations between Iraq and Russia, and the need to work to correct them and apologize to the Iraqi people. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova had commented on the threat of Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to repeat the fate of the former regime's leader Saddam Hussein. Zakharova said on her Telegram page: "What happened in Iraq was an attack launched by the United States, Britain and other NATO countries, followed by the illegal occupation of Iraq by Westerners, and the killing of the legitimate leader of a sovereign state," she said.
